Steve Maillakakis
Raised in southwest Florida with salt water in his veins, Steve comes from a proud Greek fishing heritage. When Steve was five years old, his father Stavros would guide him and his two older brothers fishing in the Bahamas. Thirty years and countless expeditions later, Steve just can’t stay out of the Gulf.
As a husband, father, successful restaurateur, community activist, and dedicated angler, Steve’s broad palette effortlessly marries excellence in rod construction with an eye for detail and one-of-a-kind personalization. Spartan Stix was born.
Steve’s sons, Stavros and Cristos, are boys who carry on the fishing tradition. They are the beating heart of Spartan Stix. Every rod is dedicated to them.

Ozzie Fischer
Based out of South Seas Resort, Ozzie specializes in back-bay, offshore, live bait or plug, he’s known as one of the best captains in the area.
He was voted as “People’s Choice Captain of the Year” in 2022. On the water over 300 days a year, he has more than 75 inshore and offshore tournament wins. He’s also been on more than 40 nationally broadcasted fishing TV shows.
Cory McGuire
Sailing out of Four Winds Marina, Cory grew up fishing the waters of SWFL, and specializes in light tackle backcoutry fishing for Snook, Redfish and Trout. Capt. Cory is a participant as well as a past winner of the IFA Redfish Tour, The Professional Tarpon Tournament Series (PTTS) and the Flatmasters Tournament Series.

Eric Davis
With over 20 years of experience, Eric is an extremely talented captain. With multiple tarpon tournament wins under his belt, he’s one of the best in SWFL. Although you’ll never hear him say that, being one of the most humble captains on the water.
